SANDHILLS QUILTERS GUILD

ESTABLISHED 1982

Sandhills Quilters Guild Bees:

At the heart of the Sandhills Quilters Guild are our many bees.  Bees are small groups of quilters that gather generally in homes to work on quilts and share ideas and challenges with one another. Many of our bees have been in existence for 10+ years and they are often formed based on geography, others are formed based on a particular area of quilting interest. Bees are a wonderful way to develop new friendships, sharpen your quilting skills and interests.

If you are interested in becoming a member of a bee, please contact our bee keeper at beekkeeper@sandhillsquilters.com.

  • Evening and weekend bees are available for those who can’t attend the daytime bees.
  • The Appliqué Society bee focuses primarily on the art of hand appliqué in their monthly meetings.  This bee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:30 pm at the Senior Enrichment Center on 15/501 north of the Pinehurst traffic circle .
  • The Quilt of Valor bee meets on the 1st Monday of each month from noon to 4 pm at the Senior Enrichment Center.  This very informal group is open to both guild members and the general community.  You are free to come anytime during those hours and can work on your own QOV or the one the guild has in process. Patterns and fabric are provided. For additional information on the Quilt of Valor program go to www.qovf.org.
  • The Machine Embroidery bee meets the last Wednesday of the month from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Senior  Enrichment Center.

Our guild is very fortunate to have several specialty bees:
