| Formerally Donation Quilts Our Donation Quilt " Friends" took a blue ribbon and best long arm quilting in the group quilt category at NCQSI! Congratulations all who worked on it!
Each year, a Donation Quilt is created, to provide a funding source for the educational and charitable activities of the Guild. Here is a view of some of the more recent quilts. Each year in November, it is a delight to advise the winner of the quilt with the happy news!
2010 Donation Quilt
This year, Lynette Crosby is the chairperson. Members of the guild machine appliqued blocks, all returned to Lynette who oversaw the construction. Rosemary Cushman quilted the beautiful quilt on her longarm quilting machine. Below is the finished Queen-size quilt.
2009 Donation Quilt Last year, Rosemary Cushman volunteered to chair the quilt. Members of the guild appliqued blocks or paper-pieced blocks, and a group sewing session sewed the quilt together. Rosemary also quilted the quilt on her longarm quilting machine. 2008 Donation Quilt This year, the Queen Bee volunteered to create the Donation Quilt. Members of the guild made Dresden Plate blocks and members of the bee stitched them into a quilt. Linda James quilted the quilt on her longarm quilting machine. There were also 2 pillow shams to match. The winner of the 2008 Donation Quilt was a Guild Member, Marilyn Wunsch. 2007 Donation Quilt Members made the blocks, using batiks from their 'stashes', and a common background. Judy Rosinski and Pat Andrews chaired the committee, and the quilt was quilted by Linda James on her longarm machine.  2006 Donation Quilt Members made the basket blocks and did the applique work for the 2006 quilt. Mary Williams was the chair, and the quilt was quilted by Judy Peterson on her longarm machine.  The winner of the quilt, Noreen Sawyer, stands in front of the 2006 Donation Quilt. 2005 Donation Quilt Donation Quilt 2005 - A 'Dear Jane' reproduction. Members pieced, paper pieced or appliqued the individual blocks. Barbara Eckroth was the committee chair. The quilt was quilted by Iris' Quilt Garden. 2004 Donation Quilt Donation Quilt 2004 - called for applique work as well as pieced blocks. RoseMary Hansult was the chair. The quilt was hand quilted. 2003 Donation Quilt Donation Quilt for 2003 - Members hand embroidered the redwork blocks or pieced the patchwork blocks at several sewing 'bees'. The quilt was hand quilted by Boydie Girimont. Judy Forster, Liz Earley, and Ruth Slayden chaired the committee.
2002 Donation Quilt Donation Quilt 2002. Members embellished their crazy patchwork or appliqued flower blocks. The quilt was hand quilted. Judy Peterson and Bonnie Stetson chaired the committee. | |
